The seminar will explore the recent changes to the Duties Act 1997 (NSW) to introduce changes in beneficial ownership in dutiable property and trust acknowledgments as dutiable transactions, including the guidance issued by Revenue NSW to date.
The session will commence with a summary of the changes to Duties Act including:
What is the background to the changes?;
What is now in and what is out?;
What do the changes mean for use of options in property transactions?
How do the changes impact on lease transactions?
What are the potential unintended consequences of the changes?
A representative of Revenue NSW will then outline Revenue NSW administrative approach to the changes.
