graduate recruitment
Why should I choose the Brown Wright Stein Lawyers Graduate Program?
The Graduate Program is an integral part of the Brown Wright Stein Lawyers' business strategy and we are privileged to work with many of our lawyers from the beginning of their legal careers.
By participating in the Graduate Program, you will have the opportunity to build sustainable and genuine human relationships with clients, working with owner-managed businesses across a combination of disciplines. In fact, as a tax-led practice, we require our lawyers to be educated and experienced in many disciplines, meaning you won’t be pigeon-holed in the 1 practice area and will hit the ground running from day 1 – working at a higher technical level than in most graduate programs.
At Brown Wright Stein Lawyers we truly value our people. Through our formal development and mentoring programs designed specifically for our graduates, you will be supported as you grow and develop your skills and legal practice. While the duration of the Graduate Program formally runs for 12 months, we continue to invest and support our graduates’ progression within the firm beyond the formal 12-month period.
When does the Graduate Program commence?
We will be taking applications for graduates who will commence with the firm in February of the following year.
Can I apply?
We recruit under the NSW Law Society’s Graduate Program guidelines. To be considered for our Graduate Programs, we expect that you have either recently completed your study or are in your final year of study, and plan to commence your formal career in law in the following year.
If you:
appreciate building long-term relationships and enjoy growing networks;
are passionate about assisting business owners and delivering creative solutions; and
would like to work with different generations of families and help them achieve their aspirations or are intrigued by how tax influences decision making,
…then this is the Graduate position for you to consider!
What will I get to do and what is the program structure?
You will have hands-on experience with clients from day 1 of your working life at the firm, working closely with multiple Partners on many different types of work, with the potential to work with leaders in the fields of tax, complex family trust issues and estate planning, commercial, litigation, employment and property.
The Graduate Program commences with a week-long induction program, and provides you with both a "buddy" and a supervisor, who will both support your Graduate journey (and beyond!) in the firm.
Our Graduate Development Program continues after the initial induction training, and includes interactive learning sessions, talks from external experts on select topics, advice and guidance from senior members of the firm, and round-table sessions with previous graduates. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the Graduate mentoring program and attend a half-day off-site retreat with your mentors.
Our graduates will be able to practice initially in the fields of tax, commercial law or litigation with the potential to expand into employment and property law.
