Michael Malanos is a Partner who specialises in tax and commercial matters.
He has advised owner-managed businesses and aspirational individuals in relation to all areas of State and Federal taxation law including income tax, capital gains tax, goods and services tax, superannuation, fringe benefits tax, stamp duty, land tax and payroll tax. He also assists clients to resolve audit activity and taxation disputes with revenue authorities or to bolster their position by preparing private ruling applications or position papers.
Michael’s commercial law experience includes advising clients on trade marks, commercial leasing, trusts, aspects of corporations law, finance, intellectual property licensing, shareholders agreements and sale of business matters.
He has also assisted individual clients with estate and succession planning for twenty years, including drafting testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and enduring guardianship documents as well as making applications to the Supreme Court for probate.
Michael assists his clients by drawing on his broad commercial and taxation law experience to identify issues and provide practical and strategic advice.
Outside of work Michael enjoys travelling, cricket, music, reading, history, Toastmasters and trying to stay one step ahead of his two young children.
