Matthew is passionate about all things tax and superannuation, with a particular focus on the issues that are faced by small to medium enterprises and high net wealth family groups.
Particularly regarded for his expertise in NSW State Taxes – payroll tax, duties and land tax, Matthew also works on taxation disputes where he seeks to work collaboratively with the ATO and Revenue NSW to obtain positive outcomes for clients.
His work with accountants, financial planners and non-tax lawyers on their clients’ complex taxation matters aims to demystify tax to enable clients to make informed business and investment decisions.
In addition, Matthew regularly conducts tax and superannuation training sessions, both online and in person, for accounting firms, financial planners and lawyers. Matthew is a regular presenter at conferences, including for The Tax Institute.
Matthew has a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, a Master of Taxation from the University of New South Wales and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong. He is also a member of NSW State Council for The Tax Institute.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys running and watching the Wests Tigers invariably lose.
